Oak Park, CA | Safe, peaceful, award winning schools
Oak Park is undoubtably known most for its award winning academics, parks, and hiking trails. The bulk of the social scene involves the whole family and usually takes place outdoors.
Don’t get me wrong, locals have their favorite restaurants, bars, and shops here. But you’ll likely find yourself spending a fair amount of your time in Westlake Village and Agoura Hills.
Let’s dive right in, tap any link to jump to any topic:
Oak Park neighborhoods range from entry level condos and townhomes to single family homes and guard-gated estates. Most of the homes were built throughout the 70s, 80s, and 90s. Each decade offering a slightly architectural style – newer homes being more of that modern open concept, and older homes being more traditional with larger yards.

The Promenade is a one stop shop for a night out in Westlake Village. A Saturday night might look like this: Paul Martins for a cocktail, appetizers, and/or dinner. Cinepolis for a movie. And, if you’re really enjoying your company, Farfallas for a night cap.
Westlake Plaza| Besides having a number of restaurants to choose from, The Plaza has a one up on the other shopping centers – it’s within walking distance to some of Westlake’s favorite neighborhoods.
The Westlake Village Inn, home to Stonehaus Winery, Mediterraneo, and Louie’s is an undeniable local favorite. From breakfast, lunch, and dinner to happy-hour, and events this remains one of the number 1 spots in town for dining.
The Shoppes has a ton of restaurants to choose from – including California’s pride and joy, In-n-Out.
Where to Shop
Shopping in Oak Park will be reserved for grocery stores and similar kinds of convenience shopping versus for pleasure. There’s a much likelier chance you will hop back over to Westlake Village to find your favorite brands and stores – i.e. Pottery Barn, William Sonoma, Sephora, LuLuLemon, Restoration Hardware, and of course, Target 😉
In the times where you need a little more to choose from, the Thousand Oaks mall is just 10 minutes down the road.
When it comes to enjoying the outdoors, I think exploring all of the Conejo Valley is worth your while. Hiking, biking, playgrounds, and are some of the things the Conejo Valley is most known for. All 5 towns boast their own list of hiking trails and parks.
