Where to Shop

Thousand Oaks is the hub for shopping in the Conejo Valley. You’ll find all big box store you need, plus two malls, and a few shopping centers to fill in the blanks. The two biggest places to shop are:

The Oaks Mall is the biggest mall in the area. It’s probably exactly what you’d picture in a mall with restaurants, a movie theater, pop ups, etc. New stores are added regularly as upcoming brands become popular and there’s even a farmers market on thursdays.

The Janss Marketplace is just around the corner from The Oaks. Don’t be fooled by the name though, while there are quite a few shops, it’s more of an outdoor courtyard style mall with restaurants, a movie theater, Gold’s Gym.

Just Around the Corner From Thousand Oaks

At some point you’ll get the itch to get out of town for a bit. One of the best parts about living in Thousand Oaks is its proximity to some of California’s most prized locations. This map will give you an idea of just how close you’ll be to places like Malibu, Santa Monica, Santa Barbara, etc.

I borrowed this map from our What it’s Like to Live in Westlake Village page. Thousand Oaks and Westlake Village are neighbors, so this’ll give you the same idea of how far each spot is from Thousand Oaks.
