Located on the far west side of Simi Valley,Wood Ranch is undoubtedly recognized as one of the nicest neighborhoods in town. It’s the largest planned community in Simi Valley with homes ranging from entry level townhomes to large guard-gated single family homes.

Wood Ranch | Simi Valley Lifestyle

The Wood Ranch lifestyle is notably laid back and relatively quiet. From a convenience standpoint there is a shopping center built at the edge of the community, as well as, a larger shopping center down the street with a grocery store, 24 Hour Fitness, and familiar restaurants.

Wood Ranch Country Club centers the community, alongside a handful of parks and hiking trails. Also, The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library is right across the way which is an added bonus and nice change of pace. Wood Ranch Country Club weaves its way through many of the neighborhoods providing stunning backyard views of the golf course.

Wood Ranch offers the full spectrum from condos and townhomes to traditional single story homes and guard gated estates. New home construction began in the mid 80s and continues through today with most of the community being built out by the 2000s (See homes for sale in Wood Ranch).

Condos and Townhomes

Townhome and condo communities make up about 25% of Wood Ranch. You’ll find everything from traditional layouts in the older neighborhoods and more open concept in the brand new communities.

Single Family Homes

Most of Wood Ranch is made up of single family homes. The "newer" style floorplans offers a more open concept with high ceilings and natural light presenting an inviting living space throughout. There is a significant range in lot size some reaching up to half an acre. You'll notice the home sizes match accordingly.

Wood Ranch falls into the Simi Valley Unified School District. Usually, students in Wood Ranch are assigned to Wood Ranch Elementary and Royal High School.  There are 3 middle schools in Simi Valley to choose from, Sinaloa being the most common choice for parents in Wood Ranch. Things to Keep in Mind

Wood Ranch sits just off the edge of the Conejo Valley - and it can feel that way. The day-to-day is spent in Simi Valley, which is not a bad thing in terms of conveniences. It checks all the boxes. However, for a nice night out for dinner and a movie you can always cross over towards Westlake Village or Thousand Oaks (a.k.a. Wood Ranch is a little sleepy).

Wood Ranch offers a safe and peaceful lifestyle in its own secluded section of Simi Valley. It's a bedroom community centered around open parks and Wood Ranch elementary school. You'll find the full spectrum of housing choices at a more affordable price then you would find in most of the Conejo Valley. You’ll be pleasantly surprised with how far your dollar goes in Wood Ranch with little sacrifice.
