It’s summer (or it feels like it)!  Here are some fun things to do in Westlake Village, Oak Park, Agoura Hills, and Thousand Oaks when it’s hot in the Conejo Valley.

1. Oak Canyon Splash Park, Duck Pond & Dog Park.

Oak Canyon Community Park – (Watch a quick video)  This is a great park in Oak Park that has a little bit of everything. When there’s water in the creek, you can crawdad fish (all you need is string and bacon), there’s a new splash park for little kids, there’s a regular park with swing sets, and there’s a new dog park tucked in the back. There are also some easy hiking trails, a duck pond and plenty of places to ride bikes. We had my sons 5th birthday party there and it was a big hit.

2. Kids World in Oak Park.

Located in Oak Park, Kids World is a great indoor playground more geared towards younger kids (under 10).  (Watch a quick video). There are tons of activities for kids to do. You could easily spend a couple hours or more. It’s about $11 per child (no time limit). For older kids, there’s Lazer Tag too, but it costs extra. Great heatwave or rainy day place! (website)

3. Boulderdash.

An indoor rock climbing facility with over 10,000 sqft of sculpted climbing surface.  (Watch a quick video)  It’s an activity that both kids and parents can participate. There’s fun and challenge for all climbers of all ages. For families, climbing is one sport where you can truly interact and participate with one another. You won’t be watching from the sidelines! 5. Reagan Library.

You may think the library is a little more geared towards adults, but there are often events geared towards kids too. Sign up for the newsletter to learn about upcoming events (website).  Located in Simi Valley, the library hosts events like Santa Visits, Easter Egg Hunts, Colonial Days, and many more, most of which are free. You can also tour the library and go inside Airforce One. Kids under the age of 11 are free.

6. Sky Zone.

Sky Zone (previously known as DojoBoom) has wall-to-wall trampoline and aerial activities – including foam pits, sky hoops, and Ninja Warrior inspired courses. Literally let your kids bounce off the walls.

7. Thousand Oaks Library.

The Grant R. Brimhall Library (a.k.a Thousand Oaks Library) is one of the most impressive libraries around with over 370,000 items housed in an 84,000 square foot facility. The library offers lots of special events and things for kids to do. Watch the video to learn more! (website)
