It’s summer (or it feels like it)!  Here are some fun things to do in Westlake Village, Oak Park, Agoura Hills, and Thousand Oaks when it’s hot in the Conejo Valley.

1. Oak Canyon Splash Park, Duck Pond, and Dog Park

Oak_Canyon (Custom)

Oak Canyon Community Park – (Watch a quick video)  This is a great park in Oak Park that has a little bit of everything. When there’s water in the creek, you can crawdad fish (all you need is string and bacon), there’s a new splash park for little kids, there’s a regular park with swing sets, and there’s a new dog park tucked in the back. There are also some easy hiking trails, a duck pond and plenty of places to ride bikes. We had my sons 5th birthday party there and it was a big hit.

2. Kids World

Kids World (Custom)

Located in Oak Park, Kids World is a great indoor playground more geared towards younger kids (under 10).  (Watch a quick video). There are tons of activities for kids to do. You could easily spend a couple hours or more. It’s about $11 per child (no time limit). For older kids, there’s Lazer Tag too, but it costs extra. Great heatwave or rainy day place! (website)

3. Boulderdash

An indoor rock climbing facility with over 10,000 sqft of sculpted climbing surface.  (Watch a quick video)  It’s an activity that both kids and parents can participate. There’s fun and challenge for all climbers of all ages. For families, climbing is one sport where you can truly interact and participate with one another. You won’t be watching from the sidelines! 4. Indoor Kart RacingMB2

Ok, this definitely does not qualify as inexpensive, but it’s something to try at least once, especially with older kids (watch a quick video). Located in Thousand Oaks (website), MB2 is indoor racing in karts that are FAST! These are not the same go-carts at Disneyland!  Kids must be at least 48 inches to drive.  Each race is about $20, but they often run specials on Groupon.

5. Indoor Batting Cages

Boost your average 250 – (Watch a quick video) I didn’t even know this place existed until recently. It’s kind of hidden in the middle of a business park in Westlake Village. It’s a great facility for all ages and the owner is very nice and accommodating.

6. Sky High Sports

Sky High Features250

Located in Camarillo, Sky High Sports is an indoor trampoline center that literally lets your kids bounce off the walls (quick video). I think that says enough! (website)

7. Thousand Oaks Library

The Thousand Oaks Library is one of the most impressive libraries around with over 370,000 items housed in an 84,000 square foot facility. The library offers lots of special events and things for kids to do. Watch the video to learn more! (website)
